A red card lay under the door of Haya's hostel. No name was written on it, only a strange mark was made, and underneath was written: 'Be careful, your every move is being watched.' Haya's breath caught in her throat. Was this someone's joke or a real threat?
She thought of calling Jihan but then changed her mind. She did not want to prove herself weak. But when she felt that someone was standing outside her room the next night, her fear reached its peak. She immediately ran out and called Jihan from the lobby.
Jihan was there in ten minutes. He looked at the card and a strange seriousness appeared on his face.
"Haya, go back to Pakistan. This place is not safe for you," Jihan said in a stern tone.
"I will not go back, Jihan! I am not a girl who gets scared," Haya replied. She did not know what kind of quicksand this stubbornness was going to push her into.
